Get Ready for Urban Teaching Matters 2018

Hello everyone!

We are excited to let you know that Urban Teaching Matters 2018 will be joining Teaching the World for this year’s conference, which will take place on April 21, 2018. Please save this date. In the meantime, please invite friends, colleagues, and advocates of children and families to join us this year.  This conference will be an awesome venue for the exchange of ideas and for establishing connections, strengthening resolve, enhancing professional practice, and advancing excellence and equity in education.

Call for Proposals

Call for Proposal – Urban Teaching Matters Conference 2018

Thank you for your interest in participating in the fourth annual Urban Teaching Matters Conference and seventh annual Teaching the World Forum, sponsored by Rutgers Graduate School of Education.  The 2017-2018 academic year marks the inauguration of Rutgers GSE’s Urban and Social Justice Education Program, designed to develop teachers to be engaged in and committed to excellence, equity, and social justice in their teaching practice. As such, we decided to link our two conferences to offer exciting professional development opportunities aimed at fostering global citizenship within a social justice framework.

As part of your proposal submission, you will be asked to provide a detailed outline of your proposed session, as well as some information about the audience the proposal would attract. As the 2018 conference has a specific focus around issues of education and equity in urban settings and global education, we may ask submitters to revise their proposals in order to create the best possible content for the conference. We may also determine that a proposal is not the best fit for this year’s conference and ask submitters to consider resubmitting their proposal at another time.

All proposal submissions MUST be submitted electronically to Kelly.clarida@gse.rutgers.edu by February 21, 2018 in order to be considered for this year’s conference. Again, we thank you in advance for contributing your time and knowledge to craft this proposal.
